Mixed reaction trails PDP South West Congress

Former Special Assistant to former President Obasanjo on Media and Publicity Doyin Okupe has said that no real winners will emerge from the People’s Democratic Party’s Congress holding tomorrow.

Okupe also expressed fears that it will create a permanent schism in the South West PDP which may seriously affect the future of the party adversely in the zone in the nearest future.

“In tomorrow’s congress there will be no real winners and the outcome of tomorrow’s congress will cause a permanent schism in the SW PDP which may seriously affect the future of the party adversely in the zone in the nearest future”

Warning that those who fail to learn from history will themselves become lessons in history. And as the saying goes “those who the gods must destroy, will firstly be made mad.” Those who have ears let them hear”.

The Former Senior Assistant to Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs argued and condemned  Gov Makinde’s activities as attempts to destabilize established state party structures in order to establish his control and leadership and “this is wrong as this has created unnecessary enemies for him within the zone even among those who were not opposed to his leadership”.

Folarin  Opeyemi Joseph in a quick reaction said,“This is a false assertion sir. Governor Makinde is working hard with the relevant stakeholders within SW region to reorganize, retool and reposition the party for future elections. He needs the support of everyone to return the party back to winning ways. He is focused on this task.”

Adeniyi Taiwo,a PDP Supporter said, if that is the situation, “What this comments means is inability of Leaders and Elders of PDP South West to amicably resolve their differences within the Party structure that will be unfortunate , he cautioned  that the implication of this should also be weighed side by side.
