LEYE sets to emerge ACO Chairmanship aspirant

Barring any change of plans on Saturday, August 15, the eight Chairmanship aspirants of the Ajidagba Campaign Organisation  (ACO)  will be reduced to three or  the group’s aspirant would be unveiled as all the 85 number of the Apex body would file out to vote for their choice, while the three will be reduced to One by the 20 member Chairman’ Advisory Committee (CAC).

A source close to ACO leadership says Fatai Ajidagba has vouched neutrality and may not vote even as some has expressed fear that the process will make or mar the group, praying that there may not be such fallout that resulted to political split when the disfavoured aspirants left HKT group alleging unfairness, imposition and non-transparency.

However, Out of the eight aspirants, one or two may not want their aspiration to die if they lose out in the ACO process, so they would aspire under their own umbrella as independent aspirants.

An aspirant who spoke in unanimity said, “the game that would play out to produce Dr. Leye is the likelihood of alliances as some aspirants may likely withdraw their aspiration to support him”.

Dousing fears that the aspirant who will emerge may be a product of manipulated process, a leader in the group said “Ajidagba has proven to be a political tortoise, learning faster than some political Methuselah as he has learnt from the House of Assembly incident when he wanted Bar Tajudeen against Olumoh, that is why, he had often encouraged the eight Chairmanship aspirants to reach out to the entire leadership of the group”.

However, there is a speculation that Hon Fatai Ajidagba would have the sole freedom to choose the ACO Chairmanship aspirant following an understanding with Hon Olusegun Ogunbanjo, the Chairman of the CAC who profoundly produced Hon Lukman Olumoh as the Assembly candidate and Atoyebi as the LGA Party Chairman.

Another leader of the group says, Ajidagba is in between two aspirants “ but his body language shows Bar Amusa, leaving Hon Adeola Garuba to a consolation third position behind Dr. Leye.

Group members impression on Adeola Garuba is that of  a politician very far from the people  with no good relationship with anybody in the group and likely his undoing that would cause him the ticket, again he does not have money to prosecute the aspiration therefore the least type of person that Ajidagba would support because it will amount to depleting his personal purse, whereas deep down, the former Councilor has a feeling that he has been cheated in the government that he has served for good seven years without anything to show for it and Ajidagba’s support would amount to settling him.

The eight aspirants are; Bar. Tajudeen Amusa ,Adeola Garuba, Dr. Leye,Hon Duduyemi Adejinyan, Hon Kabiru Lawal, Pastor Kazeem Alaba  Adebola, Hon  Sulaimon Omololu, and Pastor Oyelade.

Hon Femi Okeowo of the Dove group, Hon Dr. Olakunle Agboola, the Ifelodun Reformers, Engr. Tunde Omojuwa of the Omojuwa Campaign Organisation are aspirants that have emerged from other groups.

Others are Hon Femi John of the Allied group but it is not very clear yet what is happening in the camp of PMG where Hon Wahab Adigun and Hon Jamiu Alli-Balogun have aspiration.
