Again, Ajidagba dares Ifelodun Political leaders

Fatai Ajidagba, founder and leader of Ajidagba Campaign Organisation (ACO) has boasted that his group is already sure of five Councillorship seat in the emerging Council even as he assures first choice of refusal to his present serving Councilors in his administration.

Speaking at a closed door emergency meeting of the group, he assures the serving Councilors of first choice of refusal to re-contest for seats in the next election and attempted the reduction of the chairmanship aspirants of the group from eight to three.

Sources from the meeting quoted Ajidagba to have boasted that his group is already sure of five councillorship seat at the coming election and if unfortunately they lose the seat of chairman to another group, his councilors will make things difficult for the new administration.

Ajeromi/Ifelodun News reliably gathered that   Hon Ajidagba had earlier called all the chairmanship aspirants to a meeting where he urged them to work more in selling themselves to the group’s leadership and members. According to Ajidagba at the closed door meeting, based on facts made available to him, only three of the contestants met that expectations and so the aspirants were to be reduced to three.

Hon Ajidagba was said to have confided to an earlier meeting of the CAC of the group that the flag bearer will be any of Dr. Ralph  Adeleye Oyedun, Alhaji Adeola Garuba  or Bar Tajudeen Amusa, all the contestants are surprisingly from Kwara State.

However, the group during the meeting agreed for August 15th to choose a consensus candidate, due to disapproval of the aspirants. At the meeting, the chairman revealed that he has been inundated with calls from different quarters to run for a third term in office as Ifelodun Council Chairman or to run for the House of Representatives seat in Kwara State, though he is yet to make up his mind.

Hon Ajidagba donated a sum of N500, 000 to the apex group, while Lukman Olumoh, the State House of Assembly member representing the constituency gave them N250, 000. The group also received another donation of   N100, 000 from Dr. Ralph Adeleye as passed by the group’s Apex leader.

Ajidagba Campaign Organization’s strongholds include Ward A which it holds in collaboration with Hon Olusegun Ogunbanjo, Ward B is ACO plus PMG alliance, Ward C, is ACO in alliance with Dr.  Ajibola Ajijola and Rasheed  Adedayo aka Pepper, Ward D is leader Olaleye and Aiyelabowo snr and Ward G are  Sulaiman Atoyebi and Alhaji Adeola Garuba.

Political observers believe that Hon Ajidagba’s comment only shows he may have politically overprized himself or be having a bloated impression of how he had developed his political machinery and this poses a question as to the capability of other groups to wrestle power from his group.

Ajidagba however had showed what he is capable of doing when he wrestled Ward D councillorship from the control of a former Chairman of the local government and one termed House of Reps member. It is expected that groups like the Adenekan’s Allied group and Hon Kolawole Taiwo  can work together to checkmate the incursions of the Ajidagba group.

Other schools of thought said, even though Ajidagba may have overrun Hon Taiwo and other groups, the latter’s first eleven are in Ajidagba’s payroll. This shows that Hon Taiwo’s first eleven may not be totally loyal to him which raises question about capability of the group to contend the incursions of Ajidagba and this will likely affect Taiwo’s chances come next election.

It’s obvious that because of what these loyalists of Hon Taiwo are enjoying from the Ajidagba government, they may not be able to criticize him openly at moment of political face off or maltreatment of their boss.
