This ward like ward E, has a second term serving Councilor, Hon Ibrahim Aweda, though people say it is Absalam Aweda. It is not very clear yet whether it is the same Hon Ibrahim Aweda.
For the timely intervention of Hon Taiwo, these conflicting names was said to almost have botched his second term ticket. Hon Aweda is said to be interested in running for a third term which has never happened in the political history of Ajeromi/Ifelodun local government. Questions have been asked, maybe, he is scheming for the position of vice chairman of the council, but his fate would be determined by the leaders of the group in the area.
It has become worrisome to some political observers, as some party leaders are said to be the driving force behind his third term agenda. While the Apex leader, Chief Samuel Ayodele, is alleged to be the main strategist behind Hon Aweda’s third term bid and the father of Hon Sikiru Kuti pioneering his son’s third term agenda in his ward is also said to be firing Aweda’s canon moves.
There are a host of others aspiring to replace Hon Aweda, like Hon Taiwo Fadipe, Peter Adeniyi, a local government staff, including the former Chairmanship aspirant, Hon Tosin Ilesanmi.
Tosin, a politically exposed person who many feel would add to HKT group and their party’s fortune if he becomes the Councilor.
Others are Sheriff Agbola though he belongs to Hon Famakinwa’ caucus, Akeem Atonrishe of the PMG group and Avis Lawal, the brother of PJ Lawal whose aspiration has been likened to the hands of Esau and the voice of Jacob due to their father’s membership of ACO. Others are Iginla Faud Adedoyin of the Ifelodun Reformers.
Political observers say it is needful to screen this retinue of aspirants along the lines of what contributions they have made for the group including their strength, financial, moral and physical contribution to the Hon Taiwo group. Political loyalists have described as unfortunate, a situation where people will be looking for Hon Kolawole Taiwo to give them paltry N5000, when he has personalities that can stand in for him like Hon Wasiu Olamilekan Supervisor for Agriculture and Hon Aweda
