Ojora family schemes for Ifelodun chairmanship seat

The entire Ojora Family led by the head of the family held an
emergency and crucial family meeting in preparation to taking over
Ifelodun Local Council Development Area.  About 26 top members of the
family including white capped chiefs met a week to the sallah
celebration to deliberate on this.
Ajeromi/Ifelodun News reliably gathered that the high profile meeting was on
how to position the family to grab the chairman’s seat in the fourth
coming local council election. Part of the strategy was to adopt a
consensus candidate that will be backed by everybody.
However, this plan was threatened when the family tried to pressurize
the former vice chairman and current supervisor for works to step
down, for the former Commissioner II, Hon Jamiu Alli Balogun.
However, inside sources from the meeting claim that it is not customary in Yoruba land for an elder to
be asked to allow a younger to make a choice which is akin to stepping down for the younger. However from the look of things, the two Ojora’s interested in the race may end up being asked to go ahead and test their popularity in the field of electoral Primaries.
